Eadon Consulting, a small company based at the Advanced Manufacturing Park near Sheffield, has won funding from the UK’s Innovation Agency to develop a new system for decommissioning ageing nuclear facilities. Eadon will lead a consortium of companies to pioneer a faster, cheaper, cleaner and safer approach to nuclear decommissioning.
Horizon Nuclear Power has today announced a partnership with Tecnatom, a global nuclear training services provider, as it looks to grow the future operational workforce for its lead project Wylfa Newydd on Anglesey, North Wales. Tecnatom provides training services to a range of nuclear power stations.

Commenting on the announcement of a Bill on nuclear safeguards in the Queen’s Speech, Chief Executive of the Nuclear Industry Association, Tom Greatrex, said: “Laying a Nuclear Safeguards Bill before Parliament may be a necessary legislative step to enabling the Office for Nuclear Regulation to take on safeguarding inspection responsibilities”.

Amec Foster Wheeler has formed an alliance with Element Materials Technology, Tecnatom and TUV Rheinland to offer Equipment Qualification (EQ) and Materials Qualification (MQ) services for nuclear sites in the UK and Europe.
