NIA UK | NAMRC seeks industry views on new nuclear research hubs

The Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre is seeking views from manufacturers on new regional R&D hubs to provides additional support in key areas of nuclear technology. The Nuclear AMRC, part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, has launched the consultation to gauge demand from companies working in in the nuclear industry.

The NIA has welcomed the recommendations set out in the House of Lord’s EU Energy and Environment Sub-Committee in its report: “Brexit: Energy Security”. Tom Greatrex, Chief Executive of the Nuclear Industry Association, said: “The UK’s civil nuclear industry welcomes the conclusions of the committee”.

MW Hargreaves, a world-leading provider of complete ventilation solutions, has concluded a £10 million, two-year project at the Chernobyl New Safe Confinement (NSC) in Ukraine, one of the world’s largest engineering feats in recent history. NIA UK | D-day as evaporator starts its mission

Sellafield’s newest plant is up and running, supporting the site’s clean-up mission. Evaporator D has been set to work reducing the volume of Sellafield’s most radioactive waste product – highly active liquor. The £750m plant is the only evaporator on the site able to process high-level liquid waste.
