Plans & Construction
NuGen has signed a cooperation agreement with the UK’s Treasury to promote financing for a new nuclear power station at Moorside, West Cumbria.
NuGen said the agreement “establishes a process” to enable access to the government’s UK Guarantees Scheme, which was introduced in 2012 to accelerate investments in major infrastructure projects. NuGen, which plans to build three Westinghouse AP1000 reactors at Moorside, will work with the Treasury to see how the scheme can support the arrangement of external project finance for Moorside.
