The potential success of a reinvigorated nuclear industry in the US hinges largely on the ability of the industry to build supply chain efficiency while managing costs and ensuring safe generation, a conference will hear.

The IQPC Nuclear Supply Chain: Procurement and Vendor Management Summit, taking place on 28-30 April 2014 in Greenville, South Carolina, will address the challenges faced by supply chain professionals working in the nuclear power industry.

Key topics include regulatory compliance and enforcement, procurement strategy, quality assurance, supplier management and advancements in nuclear technology.

Conference organisers IQPC said that with combined operating licences already approved for five new nuclear reactors in the US, the new build supply chain for those facilities will serve as examples for the next wave of new nuclear facilities.

“Similarly, maintaining efficient supply chain operations at existing nuclear facilities is critically important as aging US facilities receive intense scrutiny of their safe and profitable operation.”
