Nuclear engineering company Nuvia has scooped the prestigious Engineering Services Sector and Fleet Safety Gold Awards from Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for 2017.
This is the second consecutive year that Nuvia has received the Engineering Services Sector Award, following a competitive submission against companies from across the whole of the UK’s Engineering Services sector. The Gold Medal for Fleet Safety, a non-competitive award, is presented to organisations sustaining the highest safety standards for fleet vehicle and driver management.
Through the RoSPA Awards scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider the effectiveness of entrants’ occupational health and safety management systems, with a particular focus on leadership and workforce involvement.
Mike Lewis, Group Head of Assurance at Nuvia, said:
“We are delighted to receive these awards which reflect our ongoing commitment to a strong and proactive safety culture within Nuvia. This external recognition validates the hard work, diligence and investment of our employees into our proactive health and safety culture, both at our own sites and when working on clients’ premises.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Head of Awards and Events, said:
“The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and held in high regard around the world, as winning one demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat.”
Nuvia will be presented with its awards during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.
