Small businesses can get a direct route into opportunities at Sellafield via a new scheme.
LINC with Sellafield Ltd encourages small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to work together to provide innovative solutions to the site’s decommissioning programme.
Companies can view current and future challenges on the site and submit ideas for how they could solve them.
They can submit proposals on their own or in collaboration with other registered SMEs. A list of registered organisation will be published on 31 October 2017.
Those registered will be notified when new work packages are published.
The scheme – which was pioneered at the Dounreay decommissioning site – was launched by Martin Chown, Sellafield Ltd’s Supply Chain Director, at the company’s first ever Directors’ Forum supplier event. He said:
“We’re really excited about LINC with Sellafield Ltd and its tremendous potential.
“SMEs will get a direct route into work at Sellafield. In return, we will benefit from the innovation, flexibility and fresh thinking that smaller firms can bring to complex problems.
“What sets this apart is the ability for SMEs to collaborate.
“We hope companies will seize the opportunity to work together to unlock solutions to Sellafield’s decommissioning which will help drive forward our mission and propel their businesses to greater success.”
